TALK TO ME! - KASIA PIECHOCKA

Meeting Kasia Piechocka is a funny story. I finished my graduate interview collection and one day my boss from a Chinese fashion website sent me an email about Kasia. He asked me if I would like to meet her in person and write something about her collection. I checked her website and just found she is the jewellery designer of Nicomede Talavera's collection! Nicomede is one of my favourite from CSM and I love the jewellery from the collection so much. I couldn't imagine I got a chance to talk to her in person. We finally met in a nice restaurant and had a great time for sharing her collection.

TALK TO ME! CSM GRADUATES SPECIAL - RYOHEI KAWANISHI

I was shock when I saw this collection from the CSM graduate, Ryohei Kawanishi. Before reading his portfolio and talking to him I just felt this collection is too much. When you understand all those things behind the inspiration you will just love the story. I would say it's nothing about wearable in this collection but this is what Ryohei would like to do. Making conceptual pieces is always a difficult job but he did really well. the collection is full of attraction and exaggeration but when you look at the details you will know Ryohei got a great knitting skills. I really look forward to what Ryohei will play with the idea of cultural fashion and how he develop his career.

TALK TO ME! CSM GRADUATES SPECIAL - MANAMI SAKURAI

I don't like fashion when it's too serious so my closet is full of colourful clothes. CSM graduate Manami Sakurai seems to have the same view of fashion. Not making clothes for business, Manami would like to share love and peace by her designs. She said her aim is bringing  smile and happiness to people. Her graduation collection is full of smile face, cute colours and love messages with clean and over-sized silhouette. Manami just rocks the colour combination which makes me love the collection very very very much!! We all need love!! Let's love and let love.

TALK TO ME! CSM GRADUATES SPECIAL - KIRSTY LONGMAN

When I talk about the relation between old furniture from your grandma's house and the army clothes, I am sure you can't find any. Kirsty Longman, a CSM graduate just combines them for her graduation collection. picking the floral pattern from those old furniture and camouflage from army as the inspiration, Kirsty created a new pattern and gave those out-dated pattern a new birth. My favourite of collection is the cross stitching element. I did it when I was 16 to help my friend making a birthday gift for her boyfriend. I always thought it's so feminine that's why I was so surprised when I saw this technic applying in menswear. Kirsty's collection is a really well developed collection. If one day I am rich enough to buy graduation collection, I am sure this is what I want to get.

TALK TO ME! CSM GRADUATES SPECIAL - NAMI KUROKI

Do you still remember what did you draw in the first art lesson when you were still a primary student? All my work of my childhood is in the landfill now but the joy and memories they bring me are deep in my heart forever. Nami Kuroki majors Fashion Print in Central St Martins and her graduation collection is about sweet and love! Combining clean and sharp silhouette with childish print, the collection keep recalling the best time of my life so far. Those squiggle pattern is like what I did when I tested a new pen and the cloud with blue sky(er...actually it's blue cloud) just totally take me back to my first drawing class in primary one. Nami's collection is just like a break for every adult to thing about their innocence. Do you still remember the first time you wrote your own name?

TALK TO ME! CSM GRADUATES SPECIAL - ELIZABETH MORLING

I think it's not the first time I mentioned that colours are my vital in fashion. Although I sometimes dress all black, I hate dressing all black. I know black is an amazing colour but it's just too boring for me just wearing nice clothes in black. My favourite is BLUE! I believe the CSM graduate, Elizabeth Morling got a great sense of colours. The collection is all about different combinations of fabrics and colours. I love the way she put the Mexican elements in her collection to create the mixture between tough and soft. I am sure Elizabeth's collection is a grade A collection if you love colours like me!

TALK TO ME! CSM GRADUATES SPECIAL - ZIV GIL KAZENSTEIN

After the great masculine renunciation in the 19th century, I would say menswear was all about details and quality. It's a bit too boring my me. I thank Jean Paul Gaultier to be the first who brought the new elements to menswear designs. There are many other designers follow his way to create kind of a new man! I wouldn't say men should try to be feminine or dress very fancy but It's always great to have nice colours and patterns on the outfits. Ziv Gil Kazenstein draws my attention by his colourful prints and exaggerated designs. His collection for me is about naughty boys who are full of colours!!

TALK TO ME! CSM GRADUATES SPECIAL - FLAMINIA SACCUCCI

I don't know if you still remember I talked to a CSM graduate, Nicomede. The most memorable part of the graduation exhibition is the patterns!! Flaminia Saccucci is the winner of the press show this year but it's not the reason makes me love her. I love her creates her collection by using rubber and the mixture of the floral pattern and the tyre. It's something about construction and destruction. I love this special wearable collection and I believe it will sell really well if Flaminia is gonna produce it.

TALK TO ME! CSM GRADUATES SPECIAL - NICOMEDE TALAVERA

It's my first time to join graduation exhibition in London but I feel really great that you can find the designer's portfolio in the exhibition besides their final outcome. It's good for the visitors to understand the thought of the designers and how they develop their collection. Before I've been to the exhibition, I found Nicomede Talavera online. His jewellery collection impressed me and I contacted him for an interview. I went to his corner in the exhibition after the interview to feel his clothes in person which is a special experience for myself. I don't always say who is going to be the next star ( and I don't think I am the right person to say that.) but Nicomede will be the next London Star!
