MY PICK - SIMONE ROCHA BOX BAG

JUST FOR SOME FUN! - (As you know) Simone Rocha is always my favourite womenswear designer and I wanted to get this box bag since I first saw it in the SS2013 show last year. Although the weather is just warm enough for Spring clothes, I have got the bag since January. My friends always said it should be with a bunch of flowers but I have some cooler (but silly) ideas in my mind - besides helping your clutch for layering, showing off the magazine you read recently,

I believe the box bag is the perfect of a baguette.

Perhaps you will have some more great idea for carrying it out?

MY PICK - NICOMEDE TALAVERA X EASTPAK SS2013

I just finished my last exam last week and my course is actually done. I can't believe how much London has been giving me and how much I have grown during this 3 years. I hope you still remember Nicomede Talavera, one of the CSM graduates I interviewed 2 years ago in my first graduate introduction job for a Chinese website. He was my favourite in that issue. I was actually reading the last interview before writing this and YES, "Nicomede is a star"(it's what I wrote 2 years ago and I still believe it). I felt really great to meet him in person at the Selfridges launch and we finally became friends. Having the honor to wear his BA graduate collection is one of the statement of my fashion career! I always keep my eyes on Nicomede's designs and kept telling myself to be patient for his new collection. 2 years has passed and he is graduating in a month. Before sharing his new collection I am very excited to share his new collaboration with Eastpak.

MY PICK - JOYCE BY ROMEO GIGLI SS2013

Meeting Mr Romeo Gigli in Hong Kong was one of the nest moment of my 2012. I just got the lookbook of latest collection which shot in Italy few months ago. Inviting 14 up-coming icons for the shoot, the lookbook really shows how diverse the collection can be and I really like the pastel tone of background. I have to say I love all the menswear pieces specially the blue patterned suit. I think the lace connects the whole range but Romeo also liberates the collection with colours and individuality. I can't love the romance that the new collection brings me more!!

To know more about the collection, please visit Joyce's website

P.S. Please get me the black sheer jacket if you are in HK!

MY PICK - THE BEST OF 2012

Chinese always recall what they did during the year in the the new year's eve. It's time to have a recap of my busy 2012 with all the amazing windows and emerging designers. I got many new opportunities as a freelancer and my blog seems having more and more regulars. Interviewing Romeo Gigli is the highlight of my 2012 and he is just so inspirational. I really hope to see him again in my career and can't wait to see his SS2013 Joyce collaboration. Thanks Cosmopolitan HK and Joyce again for this opportunity.

Thank you very much for all the regulars' supports and all the repost from twitter.
I picked my 2012 favourites and I hope they are yours too!

My favourite Window displays:

There is no doubt about me choosing the JWA fro Topshop window as my 2012 favourite. Two of my favourite people in the world worked together to create a little JWA world in the Topshop flagship. The collection is not my cup of tea but the whole set-up definitely is.

I didn't get many chances to interview big people in the industry. Romeo is not very well known in my generation and I've never heard of him before I got the chance to meet him in person. Thanks Joyce for bringing him back to the fashion world and I got a chance to see his classical designs. You would love to have a small exhibition in store when gong shopping wouldn't you!? (special thanks Cosmopolitan HK)

I can't list the best window from Moschino since they always impress me when I pass by their store. So I would invite you to have a look of my Moschino archive and see how fun their windows are.

My Favourite Store:

0416X1024 is my favourite Taiwanese brand since my first visit to Taipei. I was so surprised when the founder agreed to let me have a feature of the flagship on my blog during my Taiwan trip in summer. Hope you enjoy your visit there if you are traveling Taiwan.

My favourite menswear designer:

Three words: PRINT, PRINTING and PRINTS. You may think I work for Lobster & Burger if I wear a shirt with lobster print. I don't care since lobsters is a must-have in the coming season!

My favourite womenswear designer:

You don't know how much I love this womenswear designer. I would dare to be a girl if I could own a range of her clothes.

My favourite graduate designer:

I don't think I have to explain why and introduce who Kay Kwok is, do I? The Hong Kong born LCF MA graduate rocked in the digital print and 3D printing skills. I really look forward to his coming collections.

MY PICK - J.W. ANDERSON WOMEN SS2013

I am sure you know J.W. Anderson is my favourite London based designer if you spend 15 minutes with me in person. He is one of the designers who bring me back to the menswear world. (I had been buying VW gold label womenswear and felt menswear was super boring.) The unexpected womenswear collection launched in 2010 with his success in menswear. The reason I loved her womenswear was the total look, the look just like girls wearing boyfriend's clothes. After the SS2013 show I would say the girl has changed a little bit after 5 seasons.

MY PICK - SIMONE ROCHA SS2013

I always say if I was a girl, all I want to wear was Simone Rocha. Although I won't change my gender just for wearing womenswear (I still love being a boy, thanks), I did get some pieces from Simone from her previous collections. The unisex style and unique fabrication make Simone Rocha became my number one womenswear designer. Start following her since SS2011, I am very surprised to see how a designer can grow her brand globally in only 4 seasons. I am sure you will feel awkward if you don't know her name when mentioning London new designers.

MY PICK - GEORGIA HARDINGE SS2013

Georgia Hardinge is one of my must-see shows since I moved to London. Her debut show was my debut work and I've never missed any her show in LFW every season. After nominating for the Vauxhall Fashion Scout's Ones to Watch, winning the Merit Award and being with them for 3 solo shows, Georgia finally held her own presentation in Somerset House. As her first time in Somerset House, the SS2013 collection "Still" presented as a fashion video producing underwater.

MY LFW PICK - ELEY KISHIMOTO

I love colours and I love patterns more. 2012 is the 20 years of Eley Kishimoto(EK) with their patterned life. I got a chance to explore their pattern world during the busy fashion week yesterday and it is the best presentation so far in the first two days. The installation design is just like a maze and visitors could find out more about the EK brand by themselves. There are totally 6 rooms and I got loads of surprise during the journey.

MY PICK - JAMES LONG S/S 2013

I am sure James long is well known by his iconic knitting skills. After few years exploring the menswear and the development of the womenswear. James ‘s brand is not only about knitwear today. The embroidery details in the S/S 2012 women’s collection is amazing! As one of the designers showing in the first London men’s fashion week, James presented a casual formal collection for his S/S 2013.

MY PICK - T.LIPOP S/S 2013

As I always say, T. Lipop's hooded backpack is always on my favourite list although it has been using in many different collection successively. After seeing him in Vauxhall Fashion Scout's Ones to Watch and the Selfridges' Bright Young Things, I met his latest collection in the Fashion East installation. Linking to his previous collections which are inspired by travelling and roam, the S/S 2013 collection brings us to Mexico and explores The Day of The Dead.

MY PICK - J.W. ANDERSON S/S 2013

I always keep my eyes on J.W. Anderson's shows after I met the crystal boots 2 years ago in the showroom. As the debut men fashion week, Jonathan just presented his latest collection in the London Collections: Men. I was amazed to see he keeps pushing the menswear limit and breaking gender boundary. This is so far the best show in the men's week during last weekend.

MY PICK - MY FAVOURITES IN THE LONDON COLLECTIONS: MEN

I was very surprised I met so many amazing designs in the current London Mens fashion week (They call it London Collections: Men). I wasn't very active in menswear day in previous fashion week. It's actually my first time to join Fashion East shows and installations. I really want to clap my hands to all the menswear designers who showed during the weekend since all I met are super great designs (and I really want to buy them all personally). I am still editing some show reports and interviews so let me just share my 10 favourites during the whole London Collection.

MY PICK - STEPLEX WONG

Because of more and more people asking me about the illustrator of my avatar, I think it's time to introduce him to my reader here. Alexander Wong was my classmate when I was doing my branding course in Hong Kong and we always saw each other as a competitor in school projects. He also call himself Steplex which states his aesthetic - step less, creating without any steps. He was a teacher of a children's drawing class and I think he is still doing it. I like his illustrations since I saw his work in the first project in year 1 and he started drawing my avatar every season after sending a black&white "me" as a graduation gift to me. Besides dressing "me" up every season, He got an album about super heroes.

MY PICK - LN-CC S/S 2012 STYLE SHOTS

OUTDOOR SHOOTING!!!! I can't help to share the LN-CC style shots since last F/W they did one with a white background and very clean lighting. The team went to Morocco for the latest style shots and gave me a big excitement! I wish they will have an in house magazine soon for every season about style tips and some trend spots. I think I am too much so I am not gonna praise any more. Just check it!!

**The shots made me want to buy the J.W. Anderson blue-striped outfit for a party! Pyjamas party anyone?**

MY PICK - JOELLE BOERS

We have to go back to my first store interview if you ask me to share my story with Joelle Boers. I started my London career with interviewing an independent select store Beyond the Valley and met Joelle in one of their parties when she was still doing an intern for them. We liked each other's style and keep in touch after she went back to her hometown Netherlands. Last August, Joelle became a textile design graduate in the Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht and presented a womenswear collection with her lovely prints. As you know I am fascinated with all the nice patterns and printings, how can I give up this chance to share?

LCF MA EXHIBITION PREVIEW

I would like to thank my friend from LCF who send me the invitation for sharing the joy with me. My favourite part of the exhibition so far is the fashion artefact and the footwear design. Here are three of the graduates who impressed me most - Ana Rajcevic, Cat Potter and Cheery Yuen. I am going to make a graduate special again so I will leave the detail introduction for later.

Ana Rajcevic is not just a MA graduate but also a fashion designer and an artist who does sculptures. When I saw those piece I thought of sea creatures and the pieces were like attached on the body which made them stand out in the exhibition.

Milled wood for shoes? I've never thought about it but Cat Potter made it real.

I haven't asked Cheery about her design concept but I fell in love with those folded parts on the shoes of her collection.

The exhibition is ready for the public from tomorrow to Friday. Don't miss out this chance to check these pieces out!! They are also showcasing work from Costume Design for Performance, Digital Fashion,  Fashion Media Production, Fashion Photography and more!

You can also check all the work online through the showtime website.

Exhibition Address: Victoria House Basement, Bloomsbury Square, London WC1B 4DA
Opening time: 12pm - 7pm
